Mary

Mary DeBoy first started her musical training with violin lessons at age 4, diversifying instrumentally by beginning her study of the piano at age 8 and later learning the guitar and cello.  She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy in May of 2011 from Campbell University, and has been teaching private piano lessons since 2005.

Mary is an accredited professional piano teacher who has taught in both central and eastern North Carolina. The ages of her students range from elementary through adult, and she finds methods of connecting well with her students regardless of their ages and skill levels. She is a registered member of the Raleigh Piano Teachers Association (RPTA), the Cary/Apex Piano Teachers Association (CAPTA), and is certified through the North Carolina Music Teachers Association (NCMTA) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Her students have gone on to contribute to local ensembles, perform in public venues, and teach piano students of their own.

Mary's experience includes performance in many ensembles, including Triangle Youth Symphony, Triangle Youth Orchestra, Triangle Youth Philharmonic, several local churches (both piano accompaniment and voice), and the Campbell University choir (piano, violin, and voice), and is currently part of the worship team at Vintage church in Raleigh.  Her solo performances have encompassed Piano Guild, Young Artist Competition, fiddle competitions, weddings, public performances (2003, 2007, 2009, 2011), the Alma Dark Howard Competition, and multiple masterclasses.
